Tomma Wessel - Etude, pour les flattements
Challenges in classical music: they exist! In her project ‘Fast nur Luft’ (‘Almost Air Only’), renowned recorder player Tomma Wessel challenges contemporary composers to write a piece, each time focusing on a different aspect of the recorder: Annelies Van Parys breathes new life into the Baroque flattement technique, Frederik Neyrinck explores the rich possibilities of the glissando and Marta Gentilucci experiments with virtuoso Flatterzunge effects. In doing so, Wessel paves the way for an innovative and adventurous recorder repertoire.
